Renee Rothschild Renee Rothschild Catering & Events

What inspired you to launch your business?

Twenty-five years ago, I faced a challenge when searching for a caterer for an event we were hosting; nothing impressed me. That frustration sparked the launch of Olives Catering, which embraced a true made-from-scratch philosophy. Our commercial kitchen operated without a freezer; everything was crafted from the ground up. After seven fulfilling years of curating exceptional catered events in my hometown, my husband’s job took us to Hawaii. I sold the business but retained my passion for creating unforgettable experiences. I believe that life’s most meaningful moments should be celebrated with ease and joy. When my husband’s career brought us back to Springfield, it was the ideal moment to relaunch—a chance to channel my unmatched expertise, creativity, and love for hospitality into personalized, full-service event planning. Thus, Renee Rothschild Catering and Events was established, grounded in the belief that every milestone should be both stress-free and spectacular.

What is your passion?

My passion lies in crafting unforgettable celebrations that allow my clients to enjoy the moment fully. I excel at transforming their visions into beautiful realities, ensuring they can focus on what truly matters.

How do you start your day?

I kick off my day with a focused mindset, a bit of quiet time, some coffee, and a swift review of my to-do list. This approach helps me establish clear priorities and maintain focus, enabling me to deliver exceptional events without unnecessary stress.

Favorite local businesses?

I am committed to supporting the incredible local businesses in Springfield. Growing up on the North End and attending Ursuline Academy, a regular treat was sneaking down to Mel-o-Cream Donuts on North Grand during classes. Now, 35 years later, I still savor a good honeymooner. In addition to Mel-o-Cream, my other favorites include Mick and Mary’s, Grab a Java, and Flower Connection. Let’s continue to support the heart of our community.

What do you deem as success in business?

I once believed awards and accolades defined success. However, I quickly learned that true success goes beyond that; it’s about happy clients, enduring relationships, and crafting unforgettable moments.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

Remain steadfast in your passion and values. Trends may shift, and challenges will arise, but if you lead with what you love and uphold integrity, your business will not just survive; it will thrive. We’ve stayed true to this principle for 25 years.
