Based in Decatur, Illinois, Nicole May Designs brings creativity and individuality to every handmade piece. Nicole is one of Illinois Local’s newest members, so we asked her our six questions. Here’s what she had to say.

What inspired you to launch your business?

I am naturally artsy and love creating unique pieces.

What is your passion?

I work for a union and am passionate about advocating for others.

How do you start your day?

I start my day with kitty cuddles.

Favorite local businesses?

Magickal Candles and Goodies by Ashley, both in Decatur.

What do you deem as success in business?

I know I’m successful when I see someone wearing my earrings “out in the wild.”

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

Don’t be discouraged by a bad market day. Not all shoppers are your customers.
