SYPG to perform The Nutcracker at Sacred Heart Griffin Auditorium in Springfield in December

Springfield Youth Performance Group will perform The Nutcracker in December at Sacred Heart Griffin Auditorium in Springfield.


The Nutcracker features dancers from the SYPG Studio Company, Preparatory Company, and young dancers, including cast members from Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Illinois.


Performances are at 2 pm and 6 pm on Saturday, December 2, and 2 pm on Sunday, December 3. Tickets are $25 per adult and $15 per child and are available at sypgfoundation.org. Parking is free. There will be free activities and crafts 30 minutes before each show. A live stream of the 2 pm show on December 2 will also be available to purchase online.

Springfield Youth Performance Group Foundation launched in the summer of 2005 as a non-profit dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the performing arts. The mission of Springfield Youth Performance Group is to encourage and cultivate artistically talented youth by allowing them to perform, enhancing community awareness and appreciation of the performing arts. Springfield Youth Performance Group strives to achieve excellence in stage performances and provide arts education and youth-centered programming.
