What inspired you to launch your own business?

I wanted to make sustainable products readily available and appealing to all.

About what are you most passionate?

I believe our environment has a direct effect on our mental wellbeing. I want to be surrounded by things I love while still being mindful of our impact on the world. I love making old things useful again, such as old windows repurposed in my studio or my grandmother’s record holder in our living room. Nothing Fancy is just that, bringing an old concept of food preservation to our current culture.

How do you start your day?

I start my day by hitting snooze at least twice. Then I  move my body at a local gym before helping my three young kids start their day.

Favorite local business to support?

I love supporting local artisans. If I have the chance to buy an authentic item over a mass-produced piece of art or décor, I’m all about it. I also go out of my way to support businesses that are kind to the environment.

What do you deem as success in business?

If I can make a living doing something that lights me up, it’s a success.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

Know what your values are and work to have your business support them in every aspect possible.
