Dina Michaels -Blue Pixie Studio

What inspired you to launch your business?

My Grandma June. Her picture is the background of my Etsy shop. She had a vintage and antique shop when I was young. There was a magic about it that has stayed with me to this day. I adore the pieces she passed down to me, partly because I remember the sparkle in her eye when she told me the story behind each piece.

What is your passion?

Finding beauty in the everyday. Cleaning up a once-loved treasure and finding it a new home.

How do you start your day?

I start my day as one half of the morning show 'Dave and Dina' on 101.9 The Wolf! Dave and I have been radio partners for 20 years.

Favorite local businesses?

Mockingbird Bakery, Razzo's Pizza, Hilltop Nursery, and Hodgepodge Heaven inside White Oaks Mall. It's a shop with local vendor booths, including Blue Pixie Studio. I love Cafe Moxo and The Fidlers with the Brinkerhoff!!

What do you deem as success in business?

Business success is doing what you love and making a profit.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

If you are scared or nervous about getting out of your comfort zone, do it anyway. If it goes well, you'll never regret it. If it goes badly, well, you learned something. You won't regret that either.
