Buzz Bomb Brewing -Curt Armstrong, Josh Flanders, Benjie Gines, and Bill Larson

What inspired you to launch your business?
Partners Curt Armstrong, Josh Flanders, Benjie Gines, and Bill Larson had been avid homebrewers for years when they took their beers to the 2016 Springfield Oyster & Beer Fest as part of the local homebrew club, the Prairie Schooners.

The reception from the public there was so good that the very next day Josh and Bill went to work with The Illinois Small Business Development Center for Central Illinois, hosted by Growth Corp to put together a business plan and by the end of 2016 financing had been secured, a location purchased, and the journey begun.

What is your passion?
Delivering the best possible craft beer and pairing it with an equally amazing atmosphere and level of customer service.

How do you start your day?
Coffee! After that, more coffee. Then, I have an extensive to-do list so my day starts by reviewing what's on it along with checking emails and social media and making adjustments to the overall plan for the day.

Favorite local businesses?
We are extremely partial to our #AdamsFamily neighbors.

What do you deem as success in business?
Honestly, we're still a new business and with almost half of our existence being during the pandemic, success for us is still being around. Paying our bills and being able to increase our beer distribution is our current success goal.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

Having a brand and being consistent with your brand is more important than many people realize.
