Angie Ryan -Balance Yoga Springfield Illinois

What inspired you to launch your business?

I have always been an entrepreneur, having my hair salon for over 30 years. After being injured, while preparing for a half marathon, I went to many doctors without getting better. A friend invited me to yoga. Yoga was my miracle. It healed my injury and I had to learn why. While learning why yoga healed me, I fell in love with anatomy and the miraculous healing the human body is capable of when given the right circumstances.

What is your passion?

I have several. I first fell in love with the breath that yoga teaches. How the breath affects the nervous system and our ability to respond instead of react. Breath can reduce stress, improve focus and so much more.

My second yoga passion is of course the feet. The feet were the first thing that I studied and tried to understand better because of the miraculous healing yoga did for my feet. That's why our logo is afoot.

How do you start your day?

Mindset. Goals. My fur baby Sassy. Coffee.

Favorite local businesses?

I love so many, it's hard to say just a few but here we go: Food Fantasies, Alive on 66, It's a Wrap Gifts & Promotions, Burger Bar, Legacy Point Eatery, Dream Maker Kitchens & Baths, Obed & Issacs, Mosser Shoes, & Darci's Pint.

What do you deem as success in business?

Following your passions to create something as unique as you are and happy clients. Never feeling like work is humdrum, being excited to get to go there.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

Connect with other business owners. They have a wealth to share because they've been there...done that. And studying your professional field daily or often so that you are the best at your craft.
