What inspired you to launch your business?
Growing up, my parents always had a side hustle; woodworking, embroidery, wedding cakes, refurbishing furniture, etc. I spent a lot of my childhood at vendor events.
It instilled an entrepreneurial spirit in me. I also watched my mom struggle to find clothes that she liked that fit both her and her budget. So, when I decided to open my shop, I knew it had to be size-inclusive, affordable apparel.

What is your passion?
I enjoy problem-solving. I live to dig through an issue and figure out just how I can fix it.

How do you start your day?
I have an 18-month-old son, so my day starts with getting him up and ready. I am also a biochemistry student at UIS. Once my babysitter arrives, I head off to class.

Favorite local businesses?
D’Arcy's Pint and Chadito’s Mexican Grill tie for first. Food is the way to my heart.

What do you deem as success in business?
Success is different for everyone. It means being able to make my schedule, not working less but providing for my family and making a positive impact.
I have no desire to make it rich quick. I do, however, want to build a community around my business. I want to create an environment that fosters encouragement and acceptance.
My goal is to change the face of the fashion industry. I would love to be able to manufacture my line of clothing. I could offer every style in more sizes than I currently do.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?
Know when to step back. Sometimes we get so immersed in trying to make it to the next step that we fail to see how far we have come. Burnout is all too real and is the cause of many business closures. Take a break. Your work will still be there tomorrow.
