What inspired you to launch your own business?

We've always been conscious of the nutritional values of foods and also the quality and freshness. With four children at home, we love cooking healthy meals and trying a variety of nutritious foods.

Food insecurity became an issue for many families with strained finances when Covid hit.

Like many, we decided to start growing at least a small portion of our food. After some research, we began growing microgreens.

We love to add them to our meals, snacks, and smoothies. We love not only eating them but also sharing them with family and friends.

We decided, in January 2021, that we would use our personal and professional experience to bring nutritious, sustainably produced foods to the community. The small family garden has grown into an urban farm & Itty Bitty Micro Farm was born.

What is your passion?

As the years have gone by, and especially recently, sustainability and being responsible stewards of the earth started to weigh more heavily on our hearts. We know that we need to do more to ensure we leave this world a better place than when we arrived. We continue to educate ourselves and our children to be more environmentally friendly. We also want to continue to learn how to adopt more sustainable practices. We strive to be a little better every day.

How do you start your day?

Even before coffee, the plants get watered, and the chickens let out of their coop to run.

Favorite local business to support:

Cocoa Blue Chocolates, Food Fantasies, and Farm & Home

What do you deem as success in business?

We define success as being able to set goals, reach, and exceed them.

Our goals include financial stability, quality of life, and sustainability.

We take a step closer to success each day.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?

Be prepared to fall, and remember to get back up.
