Becky Listenberger & Anna Hruby On the Go Boutique

What inspired you to launch your business?
We started On the Go Boutique because we were inspired by the social media boutique movement but felt disappointed with the quality and the trendiness of styles we had purchased online.
We are both very into fashion and love the thought of making a career out of it. We decided to launch our business as a social media-based boutique in 2016. We started learning about the business and launched a  website in 2017. We spent a few years gaining invaluable experience in social media, graphic design, website design, photography, influencer collaborations, and working with major brand name designers.
We even designed several pieces of our own. We were inspired after going through the pandemic to open a brick-and-mortar store locally in Springfield, Illinois, in August 2021 and took the leap to make these our full-time jobs.

What is your passion?
Our first passion in life is our families. A close second is we love to help people feel good about themselves. What is better than feeling great about yourself as you start your day? We believe that begins with a great outfit, and we are lucky enough to work with a team of women who have the same passion they are always excited to help customers find their next favorite outfit.

How do you start your day?
Exercise, the days tend to be long and busy, but when you start your day with exercise you push yourself physically and mentally. Knowing you can survive the workout you just endured gives you that extra boost of "I can do it" that helps set the tone for the day. Exercise also gives you a sense of gratitude for good health, and we don't take that for granted.

Favorite Local Businesses?
Where do we begin? So many great ones. Home Plate, has the best food, is kid-friendly, and is perfect for games, and they always have fun new drinks to try. Kennedy Sue for great home and gift finds. Bella Boutique has some great brands we don't carry, and their store is awesome. Ahh Yoga has some unbelievable yoga classes.

What do you deem as success in business?
We believe success in business is being able to love what you do, know what you do matters to people, and be lucky enough to pay the bills while still having plenty of time with family and friends. It means surrounding yourself with like-minded people who believe in your goals as much as you do and showing them how much you appreciate them.

What is your number one piece of advice for business owners?
Dream big, but start small, and always keep a positive attitude.
